Choice of fields to feed in

Why would hogs root up in a field of nothing but weeds and little grass. Not much nutrition when 100 ft. away is a good wheat field. All of this is open territory. Cows present in both fields.
 
Grubs, bulbs, softer soil, worms under cow pies, and the best one.... pigs will graze winter wheat just like a cow(rye, oats, etc as well) and they are probably hitting the wheat at night.
