Busted But Not Beaten

Last night we called in a pair. Unfortunately the wind was swirling badly and they got our wind. My buddy hit the female hard but she didn't go down at the shot. I made a long shot on her at 531 yds. We still don't know if I hit her, but she went down there, and we recovered her this morning. It was high humidity last night with rain coming in, so video isn't the best.

Interesting coloration on that coyote. Nice job.

She was fairly dark on the back, but totally black ones aren't all that unusual here. I've killed 4 all black ones except for a white blaze on the chest.

That's one beauty of thermal in that you were able to determine the coyote dropped at over 500 yards.

We don't get black ones around here for some reason. The fur is nice and heavy and bring good prices, so I can't complain.
