night vision for scanning

so may be picking up an atn scope for night hunting. eventually id like a monocular for scanning but cant see myself dropping the coin on thermal. what would be a good night cost effective night vision option? heard good things about the armalight spark and the new bushnell equinox z

Agreed. I bought a white phosphor PVS-14 with the thought that I'd use it for scanning. It sits in the center console of my Jeep.
