Butter knife answer caused me to giggle. I'd definitely go along with the B&T nomination. A good Bird & Trout does what a knife is supposed to do. I don't beat knives through wood and all that bushcraft stuff. I have a Gransfors Brux hatchet and axe for those chores.

Still have a Schrade LB7 from the 70's, it's a registered serial numbered version.
A guy helped pickup my deer this year and needed to make a cut, so I handed it to him. He still can't get over how sharp it was.
The Sharpmaker keeps it that way.
Several of my Benchmade fixed knives qualify too so I hope to rarely have only one.

Easy answer on this one.. my SPYDERCO limited edition " Folding Bowie" designed for them by my cousin Ed Schempp of Ephrata Wa. It comes with a Bowie Shape blade with a 3 1/2" cutting edge made from of CMP 830V steel, 8-1/2" OA in lenght when open, w/pocket clip and I think Charcoal G30 Scales and His Name and Logo on the blade.
Kind of "Steep" in price at very near $175 and that's family member price.

Case Arapaho. Have 2 of them best knife I ever owned. Takes about 6 or 8 strokes on a stone to go from dull to shaving. Made in 1981.

If I really had to pick only one it’d be this Ontario bolt knife I thinned the edge on.

Randall 7-5. Besides all the merits of this rugged knife I know in a pinch can always find a buyer if in need.

I normally have a Case medium stockman in my 5th pocket, but have a Benchmade folder of some flavor for going through more than just one box breakdown and more than a few banding straps cut. Currently that's a Foray. Camping I'll wear a Nimravus Cub for utility.

Can't choose just one.

I have a Hella fixed blade that i am very partial to. I dont know that i'd use it as screw driver, but it works pretty well as knife.

Agree GC...this is supposed to be a hunting site so I choose a B&T for general field use.
For day to day chores your pocket knife of choice is really all a fellow needs.
I like traditional spear point single blade Jacks but I'm sure I'm in the minority.
