Hello I'm trying to reload this round using AA 2200, CCI-BR primers and 20gr V-max.
So far My best groups are .6" using 12.7 grains of powder. My speeds are up to 3480fps.
I would like to know what combos you guys are using for best groups.

CZ 527
20 grain Vmax
Hornady brass
Remington 7 1/2 primer
H4198, full to the mouth using a 10" drop tube. It is 1/2 grain off of Hodgdons max. Have no idea how they got anymore in.

Welcome

I got my CZ 527 .17 about a year and half ago and it quickly became of of my favorite centerfires for our local Idaho ground squirrels as well as the larger ones found in northern Nevada.

I have a few favorite loads for my gun. I like 12.2 grains of AA-1680, 12.7 grains of AA-2200, and 12.5 grains of 12.5 grains of CFE BLK all with the 20 grain Vmax and the CCI BR primer. I got one squirrel at 356 yards several months ago but that was with a 20 grain Berger which, alas, they no longer make I don't think. Figures, eh?

The only brass I have is Hornady so that takes care of that. And all the loads that I mention will absolutely group under half and inch at 100 yards with my rifle. I bet you will find something that your gun likes too. I am most pleased with my gun and am chomping at the bit for squirrel season to start again next year.

Not sure about the Savage model 25's but 12.2gr 1680 w/20gr Vmax seems to be a pretty good load that works in everyone's CZ 527's. I've loaded 12.2-12.4gr of 1680 in both of my 527 17 Hornets and the 12.2 load seems to shoot the best and isn't hard on brass.

Thanks for the help.

I found a nice group .491" at 100 yards using.
12.8 gr of AA2200, CC1 BR4 primers, 1.710 COL.
12.6 gr gave me a nice groups of .541"

Those are some nice groups. I’ve not tried AA2200. What kind of speeds were you getting?

Much like Rustydust, I’m also shooting a CZ 527 Varmint. My go to load so far has been 12.5 grains of CFE BLK with 7.5s and a 20 gr Zmax. My best groups are high 6’s; I’ve shot one or two in high 4’s. Velocities have kinda been all over the place, from high 3500 to low 3700, but most are north of 3600. I’m not set on this load but it’s the best I’ve found thus far.
