I bought this gun about 3 months ago. It took me 4 or 5 weeks before I finally got a chance to shoot it. While breaking it in, it would not lock back on an empty factory mag and was not cycling properly. Furthermore as a left handed shooter, brass was ejecting right into my face. Brass was in rough shape too. Thats the bad news. I had to send it back to DPMS. At this point I was pretty disappointed with the rifle and it had left a bad taste in my mouth already. I'm glad I waited until I got it back to write a review.
Took about a month to get back. Got it out today and I'm glad to say the cycling is perfect and ejects where it should. Brass is also much cleaner.
Of course the most important question is how does it shoot. I had some 58 grain vmax and varget already loaded up for another gun. they shot a .75 clover. I also had 58 vmax superformance factory loads that I wanted to chew up. 5 of the 6 bullets where touching. The bullet I bought the gun for and planned on reloading was the Hornady 87 BTHP. loaded IMR4350 at 42, 42.5 and 43 to about .015 of the lands. The first 2 loads where under .5 and the load of 43 had the bullets overlapping. No Chrony numbers.
Don't think I ever had a gun that I found my go to load after 9 rounds. It seems like it will shoot whatever I feed it so that has me pretty fired up.
I put a seekins comp on it, which I like for barrel jump. The trigger pretty much sucks. Has a ton of travel in it and I feel it breaks at different spots. That will probably get replaced. This is going to be my day hunting gun so it won't get much more use until we head out west later this winter. I will mention also, that I am using a 10 round magpul mag without any issues or modifications.
