How rare are silver fox?

I've heard of a few people seeing them, one person I know trapped one, and that's about it.

Last night I took a beautiful red fox, which I've decided is worthy of a mount. I have a grey and now a red for mounts, but I'm kicking around the idea of hunting for a silver fox. I feel like it's going to take a crap load of luck on my side to down one of those! It'be awesome to have one of each for the wall.

So, has anyone here taken a silver fox calling? Have you missed or spotted one before?

See link below for fox fur colors. Wild colors are red, grey, & kitt/swift.

I mean, the guy I know who trapped one did so about 35 miles north of my current home. As far as I know there aren't any fox farms in the area...

I'll have to research this more!

EDIT: A quick search shows they're a melanistic color variant of a red fox.

I view them as similar to a color phase bear but I have seen many of those.
I have taken 1 silver fox in my life and got good money for it from the fur buyer.
Since I have only known of 2 others. That's slim pickins, much much easier to target getting a cougar.
