Barrel flash hider problem

Looking at the flash hider on my DPMS the slots do not line up horizontally. When the flash hider is snugged up I can look down on the barrel and clearly see a slot on the right side of the barrel and nothing on the left side. What do I need to level things out?
 
Howdy - I would watch a YouTube video on "indexing" a flash hider. You may need shims, a better crush washer, or just someone to help you.

New crush washer, or peel washer. But I wouldn't recommend trying it if you don't have an upper vise block. It could crack the ears on your upper if you try. The correct torque is 90 degrees-540 degrees on a new crush washer. Not many manufacturers use a peel washer anymore.
 
Get a new crush washer,and as said before ,you'll need an upper reciever vice block, or a good barrel vice .
I have both and prefer the barrel vice .
