Shots Fired!

I'm curious Mr. Knocker; Don't play armchair quarterback with the facts as they are known now, only the facts known at the time of the shooting; the exact information provided at that specific time; what should happen to the officer?

I looked into what happened...

"He said officers who were closer to Finch thought he reached down to pull up his pants."

The cop was a trigger happy gunman, they should show some restraint. Every officer there was behind cover or out of his direct site, I'm sure every officer there had armor on and the nearest cop in the innocent man's site was probably more than 50 yards away. There was who knows how many guns aimed at one guy and one lunatic shot him before they saw any gun at all... because there was none, that's cowardice or sociopathic murder right there, he was ether terrified, itching to shoot someone or wanted to be the hero of the PD.

An armed goon squad shows up to an innocent man's home completely ignorant to the situation and they kill him for nothing... or rather for a split second a trigger happy gunman above the law couldn't see his hand. That's the making of a tyrannical government force in our country and no one that thinks they support our constitution should stand up for this barbarism. How is blindly supporting a militarized police force that's clearly above the law any different than supporting socialism or gun control?

Shooter

Justin Rapp, Officer, Wichita Police Department; Rapp initially claimed he saw a gun but testified in May 2018 that he merely saw Finch make a motion with his hand.

Are you that drunk guy at the Viking games who wears the horns and yells at the referees?

"what the cop knew at the time"? He didn't KNOW squat, they had an unverified, called in report, that is NOT fact. He killed an innocent man, he should be punished for that. If the average person on the street killed someone based on third party reporting, he would be in prison for a long time.
While there are good cops out there, there are also dirty cops. The local sheriff's department around here has been corrupt for at least 30 years. How do I know? Because a friend used to work there, worked there for 20 years. He witnessed the corruption, he is an honest man of good character and he got pushed out of the job after 20 years.

Cops do not get respect because of the badge, they have to earn it like everyone else.

These five pages certainly show where the division line is, doesn't it. If your lucky someone will always be there to help when you need it, ... can you say the same for them?

I certainly agree with that. I feel the same about firefighters, EMT's, the clergy, military personnel, teachers, waitresses and the plumber. So... yeah that.

Sooooo, I handle 8-15 calls per shift with 8-40 separate people, each person requiring roughly 300 hours of time dedicated to them in order to earn their respect. So at the end of my 1st day I am behind schedule by 5.8 years assuming 10 hour shifts and assuming my very first day is a busy one. That's of course assuming I have never met any of those people and ball parking how long it takes on average to actually earn a total strangers respect after which i can apparently do my job. Extrapolate that out over a 20 year career and can finally wrap up day 4 in time for my retirement party. Assuming I had no sick or vacation days in 20 years.

Sounds reasonable

I'm glad you put a smiley face because I know you really do understand the intention of both of those quoted post.

Curious where you came up with that?
