Fourth time out in my boat and finally caught a few fish. Definitely didn't slay them, but we had a big variety and some newly caught species for us.

Me with a little Black Grouper (I think)

Unhooking my daughters Kingfish. Didn't see any regulations and was a very tasty fish.

Great going. Looks like you are starting to get a feel for it. That last one is a Sand Perch.
FWC had A decent ID page to help you out.

Cool, thanks! I got to thinking it wasn't a Vermillion Snapper, didn't even bother to look at anything else, wouldn't have suspected a Sand Perch. Still a new one for us. The sea is full of fish and I got lots to learn.

Academy carries a laminated fish of the gulf coast id chart. It folds up like a map and is very helpful. That way you can google size regs,if you care, so that you dont get stuck by surprise.

Yeah, thanks. I figured that out since. Still learning. I think I saw it on paper as a Kingfish, but that’s what everybody calls a King Mackeral.

Roy, Not to sure about your mate selection!? I believe I'd take the pretty lady over that furry faced Steve for a first mate...Just thinking out loud here. Getting stranded out on an Island? Know what I'd pick. Good catch, and good fishing
