Puma Game Warden folder...

always wanted one, but guess they're a thing of the past? Asked several folks at Smokey Mtn Knifeworks, they had never heard of one.
Either my memory is lacking, or the Game Warden has been gone a long time. Anyone familiar with them?

Guess you need to talk with someone old about rare knives.

I have a Puma Backpacker. It's my EDC knife. Have never seen another one. Pretty rare.......in fact it's not even in their model list because shortly after it came out, Backpacker magazine sued Puma over the name. It has green slabs with the Backpacker name etched on the handle just like the Game Warden. Holds a "shaving" edge very well.

This one isn't mine, but it's the same knife.

I had one, also. The steel was very, very hard. You could not sharpen it very easily. I got mine in the 80's. I was scared to carry my Game Warden on a Hunting trip because my knives kept disappearing on a trip.

I ended up using a Buck folder the same size, sold the Puma and bought 5 of the Bucks. Hunting partners kept putting my Bucks in their pocket when they went out and cut off a coyote's tail for proof of kill.

I also think that the model Game Warden that I had, had two blades...memory maybe skewed on this...but I don't think so.

DAA, bet that one is a few years old. In the early days I was working as a Game Warden here in Ga., even that was a lot of money. Always thought it would be great to have one, but it just never happened.
