I messed up.

I planted oats, rye grain, chicory, clover and purple top turnips. Everything done really well. The deer hammered the turnips after a few hard frost. They eat every leaf and stem, then dug and eat EVERY turnip bulb. The oats and rye had got up waste high so I mowed it.

Well, I prolly ruined my food plot. Now that the rye and oats are mowed off, my clover and chicory are exposed to the "elements".

lol looks like it worked like a great cover crop.

i gotta get a wire cage setup in the new one we put up last year. its in great shape, but they're keeping it well cropped LOL

You have so many deer, you don’t need no food plot. Just post up and a few will stroll by in a timely manner. You must be cleaning out coyotes and other predators, more deer for yourself.
