The wife decided not to go, so it was a little father / daughter fishing today. We caught Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks and Blacktip Sharks. We also stumbled onto some Gag Grouper which come into season in June, and Sail Catfish, both of which are new species to me. Elizabeth did a great job getting a big stingray all the way to the boat. I had to take over for the last bit, she surprised me, the ray was tough! I tease about being puny and having wimpy arms but she won the battle with the stingray as far as I'm concerned. She was wanting to keep it to eat, but between the nice shark and catfish and rain looming on the horizon I told her next time. Between her ability to catch the fish, handle things on her own pretty good and pull the boat up the ramp with the truck, she sure made me proud! Lost some monsters, stripped drag and broke 30lb braid like it was nothing. Pretty sure we were on the Tarpon. With a new Penn Slammer III 10500 and 7' Penn Carnage on the way, we'll see if they can break 100lb braid.

Nice going!
Weather hasn't been favorable here as of late. You have have to follow those big tarpon with the boat to keep from getting spooled.
Congrats on a fun day!
