I've always known wind had an effect on bullets but I went out with Bobtails to a long range shooting class a week ago and my eyes were really opened. We were shooting a 6.5 creedmoor out to 1000 yards and learning some of the basics of wind calls. A 5MPH difference made quite the difference in bullet impact. I got to shoot my 7 SAUM in the same conditions when we finished and the wind dope was much less and room for error in wind call was much more than the lighter 6.5mm bullets.
Now back to your question if you're shooting for groups or sighting in on paper 50-100 yards and you have wind, it will most certainly affect your POI.
