AR handguard question

So, my new AR has a Gun Tech ventilated handguard and the slightly rough edges are playing havoc with the front leather on my gun rest. Somewhere and I don't even remember what the guy called it I saw a post where a guy was having the same problem and he used a small piece of plastic block that he attached to the handguard when shooting from the bench. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I always use a piece of wax paper between the rest/bag and my float tube so that it doesn't "grab".

Well, now, that is a quick simple fix.

I use an EGW Bag Rider. Midway sells them. We use them in F-class.

Just buy some rail protectors. Get the cheap ones from eBay made China, 4 for $4.
They save my gloves and hands. Until they get here put a shop towel on your rest.
