Mercy killing

My neighbor called me and told me that he saw a coyote in the field while he was bush hogging. I rode over there and this poor female was laying down eating on a dead calf. She was is such bad shape that I walked to within maybe 15 yards of her before she got up and started to run off. I killed her on the run at maybe 25 yards.
In addition to the mange she had a large tumorous growth on her neck.

And lived through the winter like that, WOW! This old world can be a cold cruel place. It gets said a lot on this site but for sure, you done that one a favor.

Yup.

I always feel for the foxes I see with mange, still haven't seen a coyote around here with it.

A buddy killed one almost that bad just the other day. Said it was in really bad condition.
