My Catahoula is recovering but sure looks bad.

He's well aware of snakes and alerts to ones he comes across. He'll stop and look at me until I come see what he's found. He's done this at least 4 or 5 times on snakes he finds. Friday was cold and overcast so I guess he was checking irrigation pipe for rabbitts when he stuck his head in and got hit.

I found him on front porch with a bloody nose and not feeling very good. Fang marks on both sides, figure he got a full dose of venom. Got him to vet where he stayed overnight. Brought him home yesterday and have to keep him quiet for a while.

Have had other dogs bit before but not this bad. He's eating well and his usual happy self but I can tell he's not feeling very good.

Good boy Dozer.

I grew up in snake country, rattlers and copperheads. I had a dog bit when it ran into the garage. Went in and found a 4 1/2' rattler coiled in the corner. Thought we were going to lose him but he pulled through after a few days. Good luck with your cur.
