Citibank

Quote:Today, our CEO announced Citi is instituting a new U.S. Commercial Firearms Policy. It is not centered on an ideological mission to rid the world of firearms. That is not what we seek. There are millions of Americans who use firearms for recreational and other legitimate purposes, and we respect their Constitutional right to do so.

But we want to do our part as a company to prevent firearms from getting into the wrong hands. So our new policy centers around current firearms sales best practices that will guide those we do business with as a firm.

Under this new policy, we will require new retail sector clients or partners to adhere to these best practices: (1) they don’t sell firearms to someone who hasn’t passed a background check, (2) they restrict the sale of firearms for individuals under 21 years of age, and (3) they don’t sell bump stocks or high-capacity magazines. This policy will apply across the firm, including to small business, commercial and institutional clients, as well as credit card partners, whether co-brand or private label. It doesn’t impact the ability of consumers to use their Citi cards at merchants of their choice.

We know our clients also care about these issues and we have begun to engage with them in the hope that they will adopt these best practices over the coming months. If they opt not to, we will respect their decision and work with them to transition their business away from Citi.

Someone in the comments sections said that Bass Pro's card is a Citi card.

Time to drop them before they drop you.

I just love the blatant age discrimination from these socialist a-holes. How I would love to be 18 years old right now, I’d be a millionaire. I seriously encourage anyone under 21 to sue the pants off of these imbeciles that created this environment and give them a huge taste of their own medicine.

no need for the left to initiate more gun controls through legislation as the big corporations are doing it for them without any legislation through their discriminatory "business" policies!

Here's a really "funny" aspect of this.

CitiBank is the vendor for the DoD travel credit card. So they want to see these rules and restrictions all the while being the card vendor for the worlds largest "gun club" fully equipped with all they don't like....hmmmm

Coincidence? I think not.
Makes one wonder who's pulling strings at the DOD to make that happen?
This just in... turns out the Pulse night club shooter's father was a secret FBI informant...oops!

Citibank is a private business and they can conduct that business as they see fit as long as they don't break the law.

On the other hand I am a private citizen and can do or not do business with whom I see fit.

I had a problem with Citibank years ago over my daughter's prepaid credit card for college. With no good reason they took it away from her. When I called them they seemed like a bunch of weasels. A few days after the conversation they sent me a credit card which I tore up and mailed back to them telling them to stick it.
