New 22-250 AI

Just picked me up a "New to Me" 22-250 AI build from Davis Custom Rifles, should be here this week. Its a trued Rem 700 with a 27" Shilen 9 twist barrel. What is the heaviest bullet that I can sling, and what realistic velocities can I expect out of this gun?

I don't have a 9 twist but do have a couple of 8 twist 22-250AI's, you should be able to stabilize up to the 75gr amax.
With H4831sc I can get the 75 Amax up to about 3300 easily with exceptional accuracy, I can get them a bit faster with H4350 but the accuracy isn't as good and this is out of a 26" and 28" barrel

My Shilen 29" 223AI in a 9T would not stabalize a 75g A max. So, couple of hundred fps more may do the trick, you will just have to try.

69g Sierra Tipped match king for sure.

If you could find some 65g JLK low drags, they are a very flat shooting bullet, and you should get close to 3650 out of them with Win 760 in my 22/250 AI, I did. I think that there was some for sale over on Accurate Shooter.

Thanks for the info ackleyman, I will dang sure be on the hunt!

Showed up yesterday, and I am stoked. Ordered a Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24x50 to ride on top.

I did best with the 75gr A Max and H4350 powder, getting right around 3350fps. Keep in mind this was the older Amax. I beleive the newer ones say they need an 8 Twist. I had a 24" barrel.

in a 22/250 AI, the 60g Berger is wicked, wicked ugly on coyotes, 64's also. I have shot 12T, and 3650-3700 with zero freebore is magic for making hair fly.
