We finally got a coyote.
Went to the farm and called for about 30 minutes in the cow pasture since there are a dozen or so 1 week old calves on the ground.
Also had one not make it through labor and found her dead. We setup about 350 yards to the east of it calling in the larger field hoping to pull one from the thicker trees.
Nothing. Finally see one run out and start eating on the dead cow. It wasn't paying us any attn at all.
We were down wind of it so we stalked till about 200-210 yards and setup on the tripods.

Good shooting! Pretty big coyote too.

Sorry to hear about the cow. We've had a run of bad luck the last two years also. Most recently, lost a calf 2 weeks ago and another last Friday.

Good job on the coyote.

I am curious about your 6.8 and your ghoughts of it as well as bullets. If you handload, what powders do you use? My son will be building a 6.8 soon. I am looking forward to it.
