I received that exact comment about the Hornady dies just the other day!

I ordered my 22" from Ritch Monday. 58's at 3650 as easy as pie. No brainer!

I,m not sure you will see 3650 fps with a 22" barrel unless it's 10 twist then maybe. I have 22" 6DTI ( which holds more powder than the 6-6.8 )with a 12 twist and I am around 3560 fps with 58 gr vmax. If you get that speed that would be great. My buddy has a 24" 6-6.8 from ritch and he shoots 58 gr vmax at around 3450 fps.
My buddy's 22" 10 twist from Ritch clocked over 3700 with h322. We backed it off to 3650 ish to tight up the spread a hair and we felt sorry for them poor coyotes lol. If it won't cooperate with the h322 we will be happy with being in the 3500's and 8208.
I was a bit shocked when they hit 3700 plus and my graph is nothing to special but it sure doesn't seem to be any too generous.

This is my gun he is talking about. Just want to confirm that this is true. Chronograph verified. 3720-3730 fps was 31.5 of h322. We backed it off to 31 grains and the group tightened and the standard deviation was very low. Using CCI 450 primers. Its shoots 75 v max 3330 0.5MOA with 30 grains of AR Comp.

That's my experience too, I love my black hole barrels. I don't have a chronograph but I get rough estimates from calculating drops at range. My 16" 223 barrel has 65gr Gamekings zeroed at 100 and is hitting around 13.5" low at 300 yards in 20 degrees, calculated to at least 3100fps. 3100+fps, 65gr in a 16" barrel is phenomenal if you ask me. And those 65gr bullets are holding half inch groups and better sometimes.

The polygonal twist really starts to shine once you abandon published load data that was developed for land and groove barrels. They seem to do just as good if not better as switching from 223 to 223AI, I might ream one of my 223 barrels to 223AI just to test in an AR.

A 6mmAR Turbo in a 20" black hole barrel is somewhere in my future.

3700 IS MOVING FOR SURE. Was looking at this caliber, and if I can get close to 3500 with an 18" or 20" I would go with it.

I'm looking into a 6mm AR15 also. I want to focus on bullets at 85-95gr. If I had my choice it would be a polygonal BHW barrel at 22 or 24".

The 6mmAR Turbo has really caught my eye but it's rare and I don't have a lot of info on it. 6-6.8 and 243LBC are the two most realistic options, but I'm open to other options.

Brass, fire forming and anything else aside what is going to have the best velocities (22-24" barrel, 85-95gr bullets.)

The 243 LBC might have a slight edge on the 95's because of less bullet in the case eating up capacity. 2850 or so comfortably with a 95 on the 24" that I shoot.

Give Ritch a call and he can fill you in since he designed both.

Well, I got in on the 6x6.8 die order. So, 6x6.8 it is. Sounds like I need to give Rich a call for a barrel. I will probably go with a 16" due to being suppressed. I read a lot about guys shooting the 58g projectiles in this caliber. That seems really light for a 6mm but I guess it it works??

Do you feel the speed makes up for the loss of BC? I want this for a critter type rifle.

Ritch killed one last month at 419 yards + or - with the 58.It certainly did the job. He hasn't shot any with it that ran off.

I think you'll find it will do nicely. You could step up to the 70 TNT also and have an excellent bullet that will be a tad flatter if you feel the need.

55gr NBTLF has a substantial BC advantage over the 58 Vmax. It's a small difference under 300 yards but it really shows up at 500 yards and beyond comparing wind drift, drop, and velocity. The 55gr NBTLF retains 100fps more at 300 yards, and 200fps more at 500 yards.

These are my chronographed loads from a 22" 6DTI, both with 31.5gr 8208 XBR:
