the new 135 ftx looks promising as well, but i havent had a chance to put it on meat yet to start to see how it acts in the real world. its still too young in the market to really get a feel for it. however its terminal range should be similar to that of the 125 SST.
on top of that, it looks like the Sierra prohunter you're using has a min expansion velocity of 1800 fps. at a 2100 fps MV, it runs out of expansion steam at like 100 yds. if you're under that on your MV, the bullet might be almost ice-picking on you at that distance.
with any of these bullets, the closer you get to that minimum expansion threshold, the more likely you are to expierence a failure.
just stuff to consider when making bullet choices for hunting with it
Little bit of light reading for you

Thanks that was just what I needed. I am running 16" suppressed so I am guessing right about 2200 FPS. From killing 400 Hogs last several months with a 308 this will be a learning experience. The 125 Sierra Prohunter in the 308 is extremely deadly. I realize the 300 does not have the Velocity but after shooting the Hogs in the Video I feel I need more penetration and less expansion. I killed a Coyote last night with the round but he was 75yds and DRT. Just have to get on some Hogs and give it a try. I also bought 300 rds of Sierra 110 Varmiter so if the 125s dont work I have something else to hit them with.
