Freezer Burn--can it be salvaged?

Pulled a few I had from last season out of the freezer, and they sometimes get a bit freezer-burned on the edges around the butt. Any chance of salvaging or are they worthless?
 
not necessarily, it will always be stiff and crusty. better off leaving it alone as opposed to risking slippage from wetting it to much.
