Need a little help

I'm trying to figure a load for a Remington 700 22-250 24" 1/8 twist using 65gr Sierra SGK and varget. Looking for a range to work thru. No published data on this twist mainly, thanks in advance Thom

I load the same way for whatever twist I'm using. The twist dictates the bullets to use, not so much powder charges. Hodgdon has 63gr data that is pretty conservative, starting at 29.5gr and ending at 34.0 for 50k pressure. I'd feel comfortable starting around 30.0 grains and going up. Probably go up by .5 checking for pressures until I hit 33ish, then go up by .3. I gave up chasing top speeds, so if you want to go until you see flattened primers by all means go ahead, but I'd use 33.5-34gr as my max.

Nosler lists a fast twist data set, but they use their 69gr CC for their data and Max is 32.5gr. When you go out of the norm, you need to feel comfortable extrapolating data.

Berger book 22-250, 1-9 twist with 70 gr shows 29.0-32.0 with Varget. 64 gr with 1-12 twist is 30.5-33.9 with Varget.

I use the 69 gr data for the 65 SGK and had good luck.
