Coyote or Coyoteee

kiot or kiote, coyoate or coyotea.......
I have always said coyote as kioat unless I was watching cartoons or drunk.
It always cracks me up to see breaking newscasts in town about coyotes(kioateees)and to contact the game dept if you see one. Bet WDFW loves to see that.
Maybe the pronunciation is another social division?

Ky-yote or just yote. Every Once in a while pooch or dog....especially if I know it annoys someone.

I'm with you Slick. I cringe when I hear somebody say that. But then again, I cringe when they say Ory-gone for the state I live in as well.

Depends on who you talk to.

Anybody read Coyote America by Dan Flores? Best selling book about the history of the coyote.

*NERD ALERT: I think he said the Spanish adapted the word from the plains Indians "Kiyoté" I guess how you pronounce it has to do with your geographical area and economic status.

If he said that, he was wrong... Aztec. Coyotl.

Always just plain old coyote with the coy and without the E to me. Never dog or yote. Never ki-yo-tee. Just coyote.

I figure the retarded pronunciation originated in Kalipornia, so the
only koyotee is Wile E. All the rest are just plain ol' coyotes.
