Best Steel

I'd think you have two options. Send it back to Dozier and ask them to examine the edge and sharpen the knife. Or, thin the edge back at about 15* and then put a secondary bevel on at about 18*-20*. Try it then and see how it does. I've never had a bad heat treat from a custom maker but I did have a high end Benchmade that wouldn't sharpen. I fussed with that knife until I got mad, boxed it up and sent it back to Benchmade with a letter explaining the issue. Benchmade replaced the blade and agreed that the original blade didn't meet their standards.

I bought a Harvey King knife this fall, his personal model in D2. I have been very happy with it after quartering 3 deer. It is a size and shape I really like and is light at 6oz with the sheath. The sheath is really heavy stout leather and fits well. So far all it's needed after a deer is 6 or 8 strokes on each side with the Cabelas ceramic steel I have and it's back to shaving sharp.
