Looking to build a AR in a 6.5 creedmoor. Would like it as light as possible, 22 inch barrel as I will run a supressor. Do I need an adjustable gas block? Would also like a non recipicating side charge (don't like gas blowing back in my face) don't have a budget in mind just like a light weight coyote gun.

As light as possible with a 22" barrel isn't going to be light at all, I don't have a lb number for you but it's going to be big unless you buy a dpms G2 and rebarrel. That is what I'd do but it won't be cheap. http://ar15performance.com/inc/sdetail/38013/51061

He has that very barrel in stock it seems. I'm not sure how many offer the G2 barrels. Yes to the AGB, Haven't seen any side chargers in the big platform but they are probably out there.

Step down to the smaller platform and the options open waaay up. Go with a 6.5 Grendel necked down to 6mm and you will get very similar ballistics to the Creed but with less energy but still plenty for coyotes. I like 87 gr vmax for good killing power and decent bc at .4.

That would help. But the receivers are heavier, the bcg is twice as big, the barrel extension is something like 40% heavier iirc. I've been down that road, I built a nice 243 win and it was manageable with a cf handguard and ace stock, but an ar15 with the same furniture would save a lb and a half I bet if not more.

what kind of weight range are you trying to achieve with this build?

having a number in mind may help determine if your expectations are realistic or not.

using a subjective term like "lightweight" is only going to potentially continue what may be unnecessary debate on the subject as it has different meanings for everyone.

I started down this same road a few times, dedicated coyote gun in AR10 platform. They all ended up being too heavy for long stalking hunts. I wanted to take advantage of the reach the 6.5 CR, .243 Win and .308 was capable of so I went with a bigger scope, heavier barrel etc. The platform is just heavy overall, no matter how you build it. I tried using the lightest components and all it did was make my wallet lighter..lol

The Savage MSR10 Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor 18 inch barrel weighs 8lbs.

The MSR Long Range model with the 22 inch barrel weighs 10 lbs.

These are proprietary designs and not true AR10 platforms so I doubt you could build an AR10 much lighter than these. I have the Hunter model and it feels more like an AR15.

They also come with adjustable gas blocks for guys running suppressors.

This charging handle comparison might give you an idea of the size difference.

I think a SF-Mega Maten (small frame) might weigh about the same so that might be another option. I don't know much about them.

I could get by with 18 inch. Would I get blowback with the savage? I have a problem with that in my other ar guns with the muffler without a side charge

I have an AR10 in 6.5CM that I put together recently. I built it for Elk hunting, so I want a light weight rifle.

2A Armament Xanthos upper/lower set was 16 ozs. Their handguard was 10 ozs. I couldn't justify spending $500 on a light weight BCG.

If building an AR10 in 6.5CM...know that the pressure is more on a 6.5CM compared to 308, so choosing the right BCG.

My rifle alone is 6 lbs 14 ozs.

I went with a Christensen Arms carbon fiber 20" barrel.
