Bought my 1st AR. RRA predator pursuit.

This will be used primarily for Pdogs and coyotes.

Need a recommendation for a scope.

Thanks

My Rock River 20” PP wears a Leupold MarkAR mod-1 3-9x40 Mil-dot.
My Rock River 20” Coyote wears a Leupold MarkAR mod-1, 1.5-4x20 FireDot-G SPR
My Rock River 18” R-3 wears a Leupold MarkAR mod-1, 1.5-4x20 FireDot-G SPR

Do you see a trend here?

Good luck on whatever you decide to buy.- - - -Riflemann

If prairie dogs are in play, I'd say something that goes up to at least 12X. IMHO this does fine within the typical range you'll shoot them with an AR (300-400 yards).

Dual purpose:
Leupold VX-3i 3.4-10x40 CDS
Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14x40 CDS

Just coyotes:
Leupold VX-R 2-7x33 Firedot
Leupold VX-R 3-9x40 Firedot
Leupold VX-3i 2-8x36
Leupold VX-3i 3.5x10x40

I live a good VX2 in 2-7, seems great for most coyote hunting situations. It seems most of my scopes rarely come off the bottom setting unless I'm shooting ground hogs or crows.

I went with an Aero Precision ultralight mount, and a Redfield Revolution TAC-MOA in 3-9x40 on my .223. The mount and scope weigh less than the scope mount that was going to go on it.

Good post, I'm looking for a scope for my AR also. I was looking at the Sightron 4x16 because it is affordable and has really good reviews. I like Leupold too but more money.
