Carbine length 10.5" 6.8SPC?

I have a 10.5" 6.8SPC upper, pistol gas, going to get another one, but thinking about trying out a carbine length gas system. I use AGB's, so I can control my gas DOWN, but I'm wondering how guys have done with the 10.5" barrels and carbine length gas? I'm not scared of reaming and honing the gas port if needed, but I tend to live by the mantra: I can make short gas systems act long, but I can't make long gas act short.

So what's the verdict?
