I have been working with a new 6x6.8 barrel and after my initial load work I have been back to the range a couple times to confirm loads. This is what I have came up with: color trgets are 1 inch squares, black and white ones are a tad over 1/2 inch squares.
100 yards 58vmax and h322
and confirmation groups of the above load
These ones are 70sbk and ar comp
The first round of this load doesnt look so hot with all that paper in between holes but it honestly felt like I made poor shots. 31.6gr actually was a better group in the first round but when I re-tested the higher charge proved to be the winner. Below are some 3 shot confirmation groups at 100 yards.
I headed back out to the range this morning to do one last round of confirmation and final zero my scope on my 70sbk load before I go wild and load up more than 20 rounds(I hate pulling bullets) and below is the load at 200 yards. Both are 3 shots, the left one was shot first and then I made a scope adjustment and then sent 4 rounds at the 300 yard gong for 4 hits before moving to the right target.
I was having are difficult time holding steady today but with a bit of concentration I came up with a real fridge worthy group for sure. Time will tell if this is something that the gun will do somewhat regularly or if my coffee was brewed with fairy dust and unicorn piss today.
That measurement is actually larger than it should be as I included the tear in the paper. I intend to measure it on my backer cardboard for a more accurate reading.
CAUTION: THESE LOADS APPEAR TO BE SAFE IN MY RIFLE BUT MAY NOT BE IN YOURS. START LOW AND WORK UP!
