I just picked up a new vx 1 and it is a great scope. I had 2 vx II that are 5 and 8 years old. The new vx 1 seems more crisp than the old style II even though they are very similar and have the same lens coatings. I couldn't tell the difference between the new 1 and 2 in the store, you would have to be outside, right at dark, to tell the difference.
