If Bad Dawg doesn't end up wanting the red ones, I'll take a green set please. Thanks

Just got back from the range with my 8yo son. Figured I'd snap some pics before I forget again.

Just some standard 3/8" dowels, burned and sanded. Brad's kit is really nice. I've made two sets of sticks before, one with a bolt and another with leather strips, these are hands down the ones I like the most. Locking the legs together is super easy.
My son shot his 22lr off of them today and he likes them also

And I shot my 454 casull off of them

I also shot my 45/70 off of them but cleaned and put it in the safe before I remembered to write this. I like the fact that the top rubber/plastic ring acts like a cusion aswell.

Great job Brad.

For anyone who is concerned about the 3/8 dowels being too thin I have not heard that from anyone who has received a set even after asking about it. If you are using oak or other hardwood dowels they are quite sturdy and plenty stiff while also being very light to carry. If anyone is concerned about the 3/8ths, try it and if you are not happy I will take them back with no resistance.

Also just as a reminder there is one translucent/clear set still available for free ($4 for shipping) after you share pictures.

Follow up:

I finally got over to town and picked up some 3/8" Oak dowels. They work really nice. They've supported every rifle setup I've tried in it, even my heaviest varmint rifle and the 3/8" dowels didn't flex any. The fit is nice in the rubber and the piece designed to slip on and off the bottom works much better with the 3/8" than the 7/16" I tried initially, probably because that's what they were designed for. Anyway, very nice, solid product here, and the setup does make for a really handy, lightweight set of sticks.
