Point of aim when shooting at small critters on the ground

I sight my gun in on a rest shooting at a target a couple of feet off the ground. I'm having a hard tme hitting small game that is low to the ground, like groundhogs. How do you translate a zero'd gun hitting a target to shooting at the ground?

i sight in like you said you do and never have had the trouble you are saying you have.

the distance to target being equal, shooting at something 2 feet off ground level to shooting at something 2 inches off ground level should be of no concern at all.

Its really simple, its called groundhog fever. Deer hunters call it buck fever. Are you shooting from a bench or field positions, which can make a difference.

My offhand shooting isn't what it used to be so I try to shoot prone or sitting or from a chair ( like a turkey chair ) and I use a bipod. I take head shots when possible or when its windy you can wait until they are horizontal and hold for wind. If you can shoot MOA when sighting in you should be able to do so in the field. Good luck.
