dogs and deab rats

The main ingredient in most rat poisons is warfarin which is technacly not a poison but an anticoagulant, the same thing heart patience take but for people is called Coumadin. It causes the rat to bleed to death. I once a Lab pup that got into some rat poison and about the same time broke a tooth and bleed like a stuck hog, gave her a shot of vitamin f and problem solved. Don't think I have heard of a dog actually eating a rat but if they did, the amount that would kill a rat would hardly affect a dog but again if it did all it would do is thin the blood and if concerned just give it a shot of vitamin f and problem is solved
