What do you use when yourun out of H4350?

Hogdons has loading data on their site for the 260 with 140s using Hybrid. The velocity is a few feet slower than 4350 in the 260. My 243 was faster with the Hybrid. I actually set up my chrony to check for speed since I was going to dial the shots.

Pysco, just keep in mind that 100v is a ball powder reformed like extruded. It has all the temp sensitive properties of ball powder. My experience with 100v is that it will produce good velocity and good accuracy in the burn range of h-4350, but to try to replace 4350, I would look to rl-17. As close as I have found so far, but h-4350 is harder to replace than Imr-4350. Imo.

I'm also interested in H100V as an alternate, and hope it performs well including moderate temp sensitivity.

Saw a chart with CFE223 being the worst for delta fps per one degree F,, CFE223 was 1.70 and H100V at 0.78.
smaller ## is better.
8208 XBR was 0.59, so H100V is closer to 8208 than it is to CFE223 for fps/degF.

Same chart had Varget at 0.13, and H4350 at 0.16.

fwiw (chart was well done but no reference to who or how)

Tried H100V, but contrary to most, it worked better for 85 and 123 gr pills, rather than heavier ones.
Nothing has topped H4350 for 130, 140, 142 gr pills, in my 6.5 CM RAP.
Am having good groups with Nosler 140 RDF & H4350..

Chopped up heads off of strike anywhere matches....

My experience would agree that h100v is not as bad in temp sensitivity as somuhhe other ball powders, but is very much on par with ball powder generally, in that regard. Also my testing shows a sharp pressure spike at max levels. Work up slow with 100v and pay close attention approaching max loads.

Agree 200%.
I noticed large fps spreads near max loads with h100v on 140 gr projectiles, and WLR primer flattening.
Not what I wanted to see..

Went to a gun show today and a guy had several pounds of H4350. I had to pay $28 for it and tax but thats only a couple of bucks more than normal prices at my LGS who has been out forever. He had an 8 pound jug but wanted $206 and tax for it. Kinda high so I passed it up. Now I am wondering if I should go back and get it.

Yah, if you're low on it.
Word is out on H4350, demand is up, kinda like Varget a few years ago..
My last jug was 188, same source is now 199 !!

I tried H4350 when I first started with my 6.5x47 Lapua. I was not impressed with the velocity and I ran out quickly. I couldnt find anymore anywhere either. Someone told me to try R-17 and I havent looked back at all! I picked up an easy 100fps with the switch and it is very consistant. I had it out today and hit 5 for 5 on a man silhouette at 1250yds.
