4x14 vs 6x20 usefulness

Mid Way has a 6x 20 vortex for one day sale. I must admit I have always wanted one. Most of my rifles have been upgraded slowly to newer model Nikons, Burris Leopold's and one Vortex. Most are in the 3-12 0r 4-14 magnification. I have been happy with the performance with all the scopes that I have for my intended purposes.
You optics experts know the answer to my question and I may be wishing I had bought the 6x20 tomorrow.

Is there really that much difference from a 4-14 to a 6x20? Some discussions have reports that they don't use the 20 magnification any way.

.22,.204ar, 3-.223ar,.223 bolt, .243, 6.5 Grendel ar20", 30/06 are calibers that I shoot.

If the Vortex your looking at is the 6.5-20x44 Viper, I have two and while they are reliable and I've won at least one match with them they are not the clearest scopes I've used, even my 8-32 Mueller is clearer. For a coyote calling rig I prefer something with a lot more FOV on the bottom end like a 2-10x40 with at least a 40' FOV, 4x is 24', 6x is 17' and 2-10x42 Leupold has 57'
