60gr vmax 223 load

That's my recipe too

I stumbled on this older post looking for some guidance. I had the best groups with a max load of h4895 26.0 gr. But also had a flattened primer some what. Lowered it to 24.3 and had similar groups with no pressure signs.

I load 25.8grs of Winchester 748 for all my 60gr bullets. Vmax, NBT and Hornady soft points. Shoots excellent out of my 223's. Best so far has been 2984 fps with NBT. Out of a 20" barrel. Old thread but good load data for a popular bullet choice. Good luck.

I thought 8207xbr was geared more toward the heavies. What sort of speed are you getting?

8208xbr performs fantastic on medium and light for caliber bullets. Right now I'm running 34gr NBTLF and 40gr Vmax in my 223s with it. I load it with 55gr NBT in my 243. 8208xbr is good stuff.

I know that it meters quite well. Not like H335, but still better than Varget, fo sho.
