Anybody shoot the 55g nosler varmint bullets out of there 6x6.8? I tried it with 8208 and didn't get as good of results as I would have liked. I'm going to try h4895 and was wondering were I should start?

Can't help much 31.5 8208 is what I run. Tried h355 and speeds were super fast but people scared me off for temp consistency. I think it went to 3550(pretty warm). The 8208 is 3450. 20". I love them 55 varmageddon

The 55g varmageddons are my go to bullets in the 6x6.8.
I'm using 32g h335, 3576 fps, accurate as heck, flop coyotes.
I was using the 55g nbt, but the varmageddons are cheaper and shoot exactly the same.
I have a post under reloading on my h322 powder tests under masterBs post with the 55g bowlers. COL is 2.280" in the Savage, in the AR col was 2.250"

This is an old post but was searching for this and was wondering if anyone has gotten any new loads for the 55 grain nbt?

Im running h4895 or varget cant remeber at the moment havnt loaded since last feb. Ill look in my book when I get home and ket you know.

My bhw 6x6.8 wont shoot anything but 55 varmageddon hp's. 31.5 8208 and 1.800 @ ogive if I recall. It will really stack em. My tactical ordinance seems to only like 70 bt's.

I'm using 30.5 gr's of H322 with 55 NBT's. Hornady brass running 3550. Different brass will change the load so work up to it. Seems to tighten up in mine as I reach the 3500 mark.

Thanks guys. I’ve got a tactical ordnance barrel and from I read it needs a little faster burning powder for better performance. Which of you guys are all shooting the TO barrels from Ritch’s Precision? I’ve got an 18” mid-length gas tube with a 1-10 twist and I put an adjustable gas block on.

Is the 30.5 grains with H322 the highest you’ve gone or is that were you started seeing pressure? I see that some guys going high with other powders like 8208 but wasn’t sure if that’s for the H322 filling the cases more or what exactly was the reasoning.

Groups went wild when I went higher. I went to 31.5 without pressure but that was compressed in Hornady brass. Had some SSA that took about .5 more but it didn't hold up well. H322 burns faster than 8208.

8208 is too slow for the 6x6.8 IMO if you want it to really run. h322 and TAC will get you going about as fast as you can go. 748 is supposed to be the fastest but I haven't tried it yet. The burn rate of tac and 8208 is almost identical but TAC is a ball powder with greater load density, IE you can fit more in the case.

What powder and charge are you using to shoot 70 grain bullets.
