IMR 4198 vs. H 4198 FOR SMALL CARTRIDGES

The small cartridges I'm speaking of are the 222 Remington & the 221 Fire Ball. Which one of the 4198 powders do you like & why for these two cartridges? They seem to be so close but yet people sure do have a preference for one over the other. Do both burn clean? Pressures? I'm trying to make my mind up which one to purchase and any information will be appreciated.

I've used the IMR version for yrs in 222's, and I find it burns clean and I get good accuracy out of factory guns. FWIW, Hodgdon's loading data shows IMR 4198 as the highest in velocity w/ 40 grain bullets in 222....not so much in higher weight bullets. Both are supposed to be relatively temp insensitive in the newer forms anyhow. H4198 is shorter grains and is better metering. Hodgdon does not show data for IMR 4198 for the 221 in any bullet weight.

For both cal's, I'd go H4198 unless I wanted max vel outta the 222 in 40 grainers...and that's only 100 fps. And I'm only looking at Hodgdon's online manual - ck others too.
