Got a chance to get out rabbit hunting with the new CZ 712 12ga semiautomatic. I love this shotgun so far. I was using Winchester
2 3/4" high brass Super X #5 field loads. As with most lower priced shotguns I have ever dealt with the so called "recoil pad" is a complete worthless wast of time. Basically just a piece of rubber that is as hard as a rock. That is getting changed real soon for a KICK-EEZE pad. The gun itself handles nice. It is no lightweight, but swings and points nice. No FTE or FTF. 100% reliable all weekend. Defiantly a keeper!
We spent two days hunting in Arizona and I managed this nice jackrabbit. He is marinating in the fridge right now in red wine and Herbs De Provence.

I like eating jacks. I only eat the ones with healthy livers. If the livers are all shriveled up or have white spots on them I leave them for the buzzards.
I will marinate this guy for about 10 days then roast him low and slow with carrots and potatoes. Tasty stuff.
