Nevada Rock Chucks and Ground Squirrels?

Hey guys. Just bought a house in Vegas. I'm interested in doing some ground squirrel and rock chuck hunting in central or nothern nevada. Have a 455 varmint 17hmr that needs to see some action! Have a 4wd and willing to drive us. The house closed this week, but I will not be there till sept 1st.

Have some good leads on places for grouse that I want to check out, hoping I can combine that with some varmint hunting.

Looking forward to exploring some new country!
 
You can check-out Diamond Valley on the northern edge of Eureka Nv.for ground squirrels. I went through there 2 years ago & saw
lots of squirrel but didn't have time to shoot. Sept will be to late for squirrels but there a'\re rock chucks in the mountains
around Eureka. Google Diamond Valley for more info.

I have read several posts mentioning rock chucks around elko. I am guessing on the edge of ag fields or high up the ruby or other mtns.
