Snare lock question

Question for you snare guys. I'm getting more into snaring for coyotes and have just made an order to start making my own snares. Up till now was using some I got from a friend. My question is, can I use compression dispatch springs with a micro lock? Or does it have to be used with a cam lock? I already got the micros and am thinking maybe it won't work and I should've ordered the cam locks. Also how long do you guys make your snares? I see varying answers, I have 1/16 1x9 cable and do have some extensions made of thicker cable. Was thinking 4 ft? Maybe shorter and add an extension of the thicker stuff? What say you?

Personaly id go with the cam locks with the teeth on the back and dont look back. I make my snares 7 foot long. Basically i stretch from finger tip to finger tip which is about 6 foot then add 1 foot to that.
