87 gr Berger in 6x6.8

Has anyone had any success loading the Berger 87gr hunting VLD in the 6x6.8? I purchased a BHW barrel from a fellow member and have loaded the 87gr V-max and got basically 1 hole groups and good velocity. The Bergers shot 1"+. Load was 28.2 and 28.4 gr of 8208 with a COAL of 2.280. Should I just go to max mag length and try again? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bobby

I have I would give rl15 a try I got some good groups out of 8208 but the velocity was slower then I wanted. Now I got them shooting 2900 or so with rl15 at 2.290 shot half moa or so at 100 yards. I would start at 27-28 grains and work up to about 30 grains .2 at a time. Just watch for pressure signs. I think you should find a good load. What primers you using I'm using g cci 450s. What do you plan on shooting with these bullets? I have shot these 87 vlds out to 300 and they were about a 2" group at 300 yards but that was only a 3 shot group but I also had heavy mirage. What kind of brass you using?

ZR600, I'm using Hornady brass once fired in my ARP 6.8SPC. I'm
also using CCI 450 primers. My goal was to use the Bergers for deer/hogs and the V-maxs for coyotes and targets. Bergers have worked well in my 243 so I wanted to give them a try in this.

I would load some up with rl15 like I said and give it a try. For deer and hogs I think they would be good. What's your twist rate and how long is your barrel? What kind of velocity did you get out of the 87 vmax? I was getting 2800-2950 with the berger 87.

18" BHW 1-9 twist. V-max was giving 2870 fps with a suppressor and no pressure signs. 29.0 grs started showing some swipes.

I had huge success with them in a 6mm LBC. They shot at about 2850 fps and made 5 shot 1/2" groups. I know its a different case but it really like 28 grains of 8208.

My BHW barrel prefers 55- 58 grain bullets. Anything larger is met with mixed success. I tried 87's Hornady and Berger and had no luck.

My BHW barrel has shot everything I have feed it great from 87s down to 65 is the lighted I shot. The hornady 87 hpbts grouped good out to 200 but at 300 didn't group as well as my 87g Berger load.

barrel length is 18 inches, suppressed with a recce 7. I don't know the speed at the moment, I am waiting for a new gas block. I will see if I can drag my lab radar out and get a idea of the speed.

I just worked up a load using varget my load is 29.8 varget cci450 fc brass speed was 2941fps. Group .4" at 100 yards.
