Gang,
Last nite was a good one for a while...
First set, a pair of grays came in instantly. Took one at 60 yards, but passed on the other as it ran away.
Second set had a red fox run in and I took it at 40 yards. Unfortunately, I could not find it, despite the fact that I saw it go down. I decided to keep things hot and return in the morning to look for it.
Third set featured lots of howling as I approached setup location. Basically, I was surrounded! I howled once and did a few barks ad here came two sets of eyes. The coyotes ran over the call and I had to bark at them to make the easy shot. The other coyote escaped.
Fourth set had a red fox come in but it was on the horizon and I could not shoot. I turned around and two grays were coming to the call. I shot one and the other left the scene.
I quit at 2 AM when the wind picked up.I returned to look for the red, to complete the Slam, and instantly found it. It had run 40 downhill after a nasty gut shot.
