I got a box of the 73 gr and 75 gr Eld bullets. I was surprised of the twist rate on the box the 73 was 1/8 the 75 was 1/7 Midway didn't say what the twist rate was. The 73 look like the 68 hp but the 75 look like a vld. Has anyone messed with these yet? I wanted to use the 73 in my 1/9 twist 22-250 and the 75 in my 1/8 223 for target/ coyotes still going to see how they work in them.

the ELD-M is an amax construction core and jacket with the new heat sheild tip on it.

this is the response i got from hornady when i asked about load data for one of the ELD-M bullets right after they announced them and that they were doing away with the amax.

the ELD-X bullets are a different story.

If the 75 Eld is the same as A-max wonder why they changed the twist rate on them from 1/8 to 1/7.I have a bunch of the 75 A-max I will have to compare them.

You will be just fine. The increased velocity of the 22-250 will stabilize the 73 in 1-9' and the 75 should be just fine in a 1-8" 223.

If you don't think they are stabilized try pushing them faster.

Loaded some of the 73 gr ELD in 22-250 using H414 and Varget both loads went under half with three shoot groups. Took it out too 3 hundred had three hits touching on steel! Very impressed with this bullet in my 1-9 twist 22-250 time to try them out on varmints.

nice! I can seat out to 2.5" in my Tikka 223 with the ten round capacity Waters magazine, but actually prefer the OEM magazine for most uses. But it restrits OAL to around 2.26"

I will pick up some 73's when I can. thanks for the info

Nailed a broad side coyote yesterday at 150 yds. Shoulder shot. Tracked blood for about 3/4 mile and never did find it. Not Happy.
