I got a box of the 73 and 75s to test.
Im shooting a 223 Wylde 20" ARP hybrid 5R 8 twist SPR weight barrel on some thrown together parts AR.
Found out the 77gr TMK and 73gr ELDM both touch riflings at 2.405" so i seated both back at 2.400".
Using new Lapua brass, CCI BR4, H4895, and 73 gr ELDM @ 2.400".
My first test load was 23gr H4895 and went off to test them yesterday. 5 77gr TMK and somehow i lost count and loaded too many 73 grain ELDM's and ended up with 17. oh well.

Im working on a load so i can go play in 600 Yard F-Class again at a new range here kinda local.
For yesterdays test i was just goin to see if they shot worth a flip at 100 yards since the fields were pretty muddy.

First 5 were the 77 grain TMK and they did pretty good, right at 1/2". Next were 5 of the 73 grain ELDM right under 3/8" so not too shabby. The last 12 i shot into one group at 100 yards and i was hoping they werent patterning like a shotgun since i couldnt see the hits in the black. I was shooting at 7:30 last night with a flashlight shining on the target.
Got down there and tried to take a picture, ended up taking my target down and using the clean side to measure with.

Im gonna guess 5/8"? Didnt have anything else to measure it with. Im goin to test it at 600 yards Saturday to see if the stays consistent. Only 3 "flyers" in that group so im plenty happy.

I'm playing with them in my FN 15 Tactical Carbine. H4895 seems to be the powder. My best was at 23.7. They are working much better than the 69/77 TMK's out of my gun.

You must be seating really deep to be seating at mag length with the 75 gr plastic tipped bullet. Or has Hornady redesigned the 75 gr AMax bullets. I shoot the 80 Amax in my bolt gun with 23.7 varget and get good groups out to 600.

I don't have any 75 A Max to measure, but the 73 ELD's measure off the ogive at .610, and overall length is 1.050. I can load 24.0 Varget in LC brass, but it's compressed, and affects seating depth.

Got the chronograph out today. loaded 23.6 23.7 23.8 23.9 of H4895. Best groups were at23.6 & 23.9 ES/SD on the 23.6 load was 17/5.8 and 61/26.1 on the 23.9 load. Groups were 3/4 inch. Forgot. Velocity was 2608 and 2634 from a 16" barrel. I can live with that. Coyotes ain't gonna know the difference.
