Cci 400 vs br4

I went and bought 1000 small rifle primers today and when I got home I noticed I had picked up a mislabeled (price tag not box) box of cci br4. My question is, can I interchange them with my already proven cci 400 loads or use them for something else?

Should be fine, I believe the br4 is the same primer but with a thicker cup and stricter QC

Lucky you, BR-4s cost twice as much here, and they are good for ARs as well.

My .17 Remington, my .204 Ruger, my .221 Fireball, my .223 and my .223 AI have shot their best groups with the CCI BR primer. Coincidence? Could be I suppose. I sure doubt it however.

I tried cci 400, 450 and BR-4 in my 223 and didn't notice a difference between cci 450 and BR-4.

cci 450 shot my best group.

I only use BR4 in my 223 AR. Like most have said they should interchange fine. Good luck

I use BR2 and BR4 in competition loads. The two rifles I shoot, one a bold and one an AR. Both of them have single digit velocity spreads with Hodgdon powders. They are my favorite primers and you shouldn't have to worry about any pressure issues.
