Hornady 75gr BTHP's and coyotes?

No no no no no no no no no no no no!!!!! No!

Absolutely terrible choice for hunting. There's been several threads that talked about this over the last few months, even a video of a guy double tapping a coyote under 50 yards and watching it run off.

I never would have dreamed that they would perform so badly but they do. I loaded a ton of them several years ago. I shot three coyotes one morning, all good shots on close stationary targets. I didn't recover any of them.

I’ve used the 75 gr Priv Partizan 223 match BTHP for several years as my general purpose round. I’ve had good success with it and it’s pretty similar to the Hornady offering.

I’m currently setting up a BCM 14.5 upper to use when calling and found it didn’t like the Priv 75 grain, or the 60gr Vmax, at 100 yards they were hard pressed to do 1.75-2 in. Tried the Hornady 223 75gr match BTHP and was amazed, the group dropped to .65, so that is what I’m going to use in this upper. I guess we’ll see how they perform, but I would expect similar results to the 75gr priv.
