need load ideas for 6.5 creedmore.

For target work, try the Sierra 123gr or the 142gr...Really high Ballistic Coefficients (.500+) but for hunting, go with their compatible, weight wise, soft points...There are several powders that work well with the 6.5CM...

130g Berger hunting VLD
760, .5g off of max load
3100-3130 fps out of a 24" barrel
sub 1/4" groups, day after day.
Beats anything I have worked up to date in this case...400 yards, sub inch groups

R#15 is 3000 fps at the accuracy node in my X caliber 8T, but shoots bug holes also.

Mine is a hunting rifle, with a Muzzle dia of ..690 on a Model 7, HS stock.

Gentry muzzle break, absolute joy to shoot, and is one very flat shooting load.

X Caliber is doing a very good job making their barrels. I have a 6.5x47 Lapua with a 28" unturned blank that shoots hummer groups, less than .200 is not unusual, with 123g Sierra MK. This barrel is throated .129 and .160-.199 is normal for 140-142g bullets, Harrells brake on this barrel,14lb rifle, kicks about like a 223 Rem Varmint.

Just curious if you shot the factory stuff first and tailored this load to it, or just started with the hand loads?

My 6.5 is a weatherby vanguard I've tried a few different 140 gr bullets. Settled on barnes match, burners. Under 39.6 gr of hybrid 100v shoots .389" groups at a hundred and holds that sub moa out to 500.
