223 pellet load?

I have been reading about guys loading a 22 pellet in a primed 223 case , no powder and shooting them.. Have any of you tried this with maybe 1 to 2 grains of blue dot? And before you ask.. Yes I have several 22 rifles and pistols, and I also have a nice Springer air rifle and a PCP air rifle.. Thanks!

I say why not?

While I haven't tried the pellet in the 223 case, I use to shoot my 30-06 in my garage. I'd stuff the mouth of a primed case through a 1/2" piece of paraffin wax. A box with a blanket inside as a bullet trap. Works with pistol cases too but won't operate a semiautomatic.

I guess I get bored doing the same thing as everyone else...and after I kill a couple hundred barn pigeons with this load.. I'll get bored with it too...

I have. Works pretty well. You can also drill out the base of a 223 case and use 209 shotgun primers to launch the pellets as well. Handy around the backyard for small pests.
